  • Infinite Crisis has shut down.

With its departure, Dawnbase will be going into permanent read-only mode and will remain as both an archive of information about Infinite Crisis, and a reminder of the times we all had with the game.

Hats off to you all. It was a pleasure, ladies and gentlemen.

This is an updated version of my original Tank of Steel. This is meant for top lane supes.

    Early Game
Starting with Heat Vision works for pushing off the enemy champ while you are farming. Your not aiming to kill just yet, just farm as much as you can. Same goes for Frost Breath and then Kryptonian Might shortly after. After you get your abilities, your passive is key to making you unkillable. Double tapping E followed with Q and W will make all the stacks you need. If they run, they run, if not the passive will protect you enough along with Shazam's stolen power to either block more or heal you to finish a fight or get away from a jungle gank.

The items are a bit tricky here. It really depends on your enemy team. I always look at the majority of the champs attack preference. If most are power champs, it's good to build Kryptonian War Armor and Entropy Aegis with Ruby of Life for health. If most are attack damage champs, then definitely build Suits of Sorrows and Ruby of Life. The attack reflect won't be any good without extra health, so the ruby is essential. If you champs are an even mix of both power and attack, look for the jungle characters (which is most likely attack damage) or the adc or whoever you will be laning with. Then make a healthy mix of the two that will help gear you for late game.

    Mid Game
This is when you get your ult. Your ult will be your ticket for kills. Now you can stop being on the defensive side and tactfully pick the opportunity in which you can use it on a low health champ. It's better to stick to your lane than to run around and gank, however if the opportunity presents itself necessary, that's what teleport is for. Now, that's not to say you won't get many kills, because i've actually gotten a huge number of them in ganks and alone, however you will only get kills using your ult to either start the fight or end it. The cooldown will dissapear before you know it.

Following the item base, if you have a full enemy selection of attack damage champs, assuming you built Suits of Sorros and Ruby of Life, include Booster Gold's Power Suit then top it off with Ra's Al Ghul's Robe. For full power damage champs, throw in the entropy aegis and then ra's al ghul's robe as a finish. With a healthy medium, again dependent on the champs that are getting the most kills, I usually get the suits of sorrows, kyrptonian war armor, then the ruby, then ra's al ghul's robe and call it good.

    Late Game
Gank time! I usually only leave top to help take out an enemy or help defent mid's tower if they need it. Once your top turret is gone, i usually keep pushing for the second turret unless I know they plan to gank the crap out of it an not stop. However, when your done with top and start the group gank phase, you will usually be target #1, and that's okay. You jump in the middle of the fight first, and they do what they can do kill you, and it doesn't work. Your team follows suit and they switch targets, already wasting a shit load on you, and you are able to pick off the weaker ones with the rest of your team, saving your ult for when they turn around and run. This is an easy method for you to get fed, and if you were already fed ealier in game, then it's an easy breeze from then on.

You shouldn't have your potions or cloak anymore, they aren't any help for you anymore. If you still have them, salvage them to make room for better items. Spear of Destiny is always a favorite to have that little extra attack, and [[Metallo's Heart]] should only be included if you have nothing else to build.

    Mods
I usually get the mods for Nil Cloak, Kryptonian War Suit, and Suits of Sorrows in matters of cost reduction. Reducing their cost makes you develop faster as you play, giving you an edge over your opponents. In top lane, your trying to grind just as much as a jungle is. The faster you get your build, the better advantage you have over your opponents.

    Augments:
G and S rank additions to Power Armor and Attack Armor. Don't get the ones that stack as you level, not every game gets you to max level, and the benefits are minor. Use augments that give you as much as possible as early as possible. Augments are mean't for early game buffs, yourt items will carry you as you get higher.

    Champs to avoid:
Mecha Wonder Woman: Early game she will be very difficult to handle, especially if your not in a duo top. She won't get a kill on you unless you make a stupid mistake, but she will definitely crank down your health bar and prevent you from making push progress. Even in mid game or late game she doesn't get any easier. She has a healthy balance of high amounts of both attack damage and power damage, making it hard for you to gear a defense towards her. Even in ganks, I would leave her alone for your team. She won't take you out easily, but she will definely get you to a point where you could die.

Green Lantern: I know he belongs in mid, but I have seen some in top lane. He's too bulky and hits hard ranged attacks on you for you to push. Up until you build power armor, I suggest you avoid him and be cautious.

Aquaman: Good poke and too bulky to take out quickly, even if you don't build supes as a tank, he's still too hard to kill and not worth the effort.

    Champs to take advantage of:
Atomic Wonder Woman: Some assassin's prefer to lane, which is their greatest downfall against you. Just build attack armor and when you get your ult, finish her as she starts to run. I can't tell you how many times you'll get underestimated by an Atomic Wonder Woman once you get your ult. Very easy for them to feed you. Watch out for jungle ganks, though. Most of the time, if you know how to escape, you won't die trying to take out someone who jungle ganks you, but it isn't recommended you stress test it.

Flash: Again another assassin who often prefers to lane top, probably because they suck at jungling. Same tactic as Atomic Wonder Woman, only build power armor instead and rape once you get your ult. Save your ult till you know for sure it can kill him, because flash can escape fights better than any other champ you'll go up against.

    Batman: Because Superman > Batman.

It's been a reoccuring bug. Remember this is a low budget site. Some issues are bound to arise from time to time.

I realize that i'm missing [[Suit's of Sorrows (2)]] in the core item's slot. But it took me a million updates to get it right because the website system kept screwing up the order. So until it get's fixed I'm leaving it as it is.
