  • Infinite Crisis has shut down.

With its departure, Dawnbase will be going into permanent read-only mode and will remain as both an archive of information about Infinite Crisis, and a reminder of the times we all had with the game.

Hats off to you all. It was a pleasure, ladies and gentlemen.

    Hey guys,

after i looked at all the gascat guides here i was just wondering why none of them playing the gascat like i do.
so i simply decided to make a quick guide about how i play her and leave some words in here so you can understand the why.

this "guide" gives no optional/situational tips, due i think that it is simply not necessary so far.

first of all the amplyfier - assassin: early terror
you deal fair amount of damage early on and lets you buy the code blade and atomic axe faster than others.

    stolen powers
flash speed - to reach spots faster or simply be able to keep attacking a fleeing enemy, especially within the first levels.
doomsday shield - to be able to withstand some more enemy attacks, offensive and defensive use possible.

now let's begin with the skilling order.
after many tries and failures with gascat i just realized that this skilling order is the best to fit into her assassin role.

shred is your main opener out of the stealth, or should be if possible. it deals decent amount of damage and deals even more if your target has less than 50% health.
shred2 at the beginning of gotham heights let's you deal not much less damage than you could deal with shred1+blood hunt1, but leaves you with more mana so you can use it more often before running out of willpower.

the steampowered claws may be nice to harass but costs you way to much willpower when harassing your enemies with this. gascat is an assassin, so you should play like one. sp-claw1 is enough to mark your target to be able to use your ulti (predators grace) multiple times. im not 100% sure atm, but i believe you can use 1 extra use per marked enemy. so if 1 enemy is marked, you can use twice on him. if another is marked to, you can use 1 more on that target. so you get 3 uses of your ulti for 2 marked enemies. if level up your sp-claws too early than you might will have too less willpower to be able to get your multiple uses of your ulti.

blood hunt have two ways of use.
1 to get close enough to your enemy and deal extra damage with your basic attack or shred.
2 to flee away from a fight that left you pretty low on health.
you always have to decide which one of this is just the smartest move at your current situation.
just keep in mind that your stealth doesn't last forever, so you have to time it well.
if you press it to early, you wount reach your enemy within the stealth so you will deal no extra damage, and will possible get the attention of the enemy or enemies early on. (and gascat dont likes to be hit)
if you use it too late, enemies will see you going into stealth so they will start to flee while you even in stealth.

predators grace or easier said your ultimate (ulti) is your main skill to deal massive damage. when the target is marked with your sp-claws your ulti will reset its cooldown instantly, so you can use it twice on the same target. somehow as said earlier a second marked target gives you only 1 extra hit instead of 2, but i'm not 100% sure right now. always try to pick our squishy target's if possible. never try to take out the tank in teamfights first, its just waste of willpower and time. squishy target's are those who have no/less health and/or attack armor.

some players love to level up the sharpened claws early on to deal extra damage as bleeding effect without willpower cost, but - butts! you are an assassin, assassins have to deal brust damage, not over time... i have to admit it's a nice side effect and always gives me a grin on my face, when a runaway enemy dies caused to the bleeding, but still you have to try to max out your burst damage first, than the bleeding. the only thing why i max out steampowered claws last is cause it costs more willpower and leaves me less use of my more important skills.

so thats it for the skills. i hope you guys can understand and agree the way how all comes together as an assassin gascat.

now let's have a quick look at the items i choose and why i think that you don't really need to have any optional items. will try to make it much quicker than the skill part, i promise (i believe)

the code blade is a pretty cheap to buy and gives you the damage you need early on.
start with code blade 2 + tektite vile, then max out code blade first and you will do just fine.

this vial gives you a little health and willpower back over time. it's not that much, but you can use it 3 items before its empty and it automaticly refills at base. it sometimes gives you the extra health to survive a bleeding or poison effect or willpower to just be able to cast your stealth to flee or maybe ulti your target a last time to win the fight.

once you maxed out the code blade you're ready for some real damage.
get the atomic axe 1, then joe chill's revolver 1, then axe 2 and revolver 2. you may can mix that a bit around, but somehow i always feel like this way i've been more efficent than vice versa.

if there is any optional item at this build, than it would be the cheetah claw. sometimes i just feel there is need for some lifesteal at midgame, so this claw comes pretty handy. getting the claw 2, than maxing out the revolver 4, than back to the claw 4. kinda same as with the axe and the revolver. you may can maxout the revolver first before buying the cheetah claw, but thats someting you may have to see for yourself.
but nonetheless, i really love the maxed out bonus effect of this claw. it helps you flee when you are less on health, or start a deadly comeback while the enemy thinks you are fleeing....

while you already maxed out the revolver for extra crit damage, these velocity 9 implants rounds out your crit rate and movement speed even more. max out straight away.

if the match really takes that long, that you have all slots full now and still money to spend, you can finally sell the vial and get this beauty to max out your damage even more. im not sure if this is overkill, since visual stat bar of your attack is already full... but who cares, feels more powerful, right?!
to be honest, it doesnt really matters at this point anymore. every squishy enemy will be dead within 1-2 seconds, tanks takes few seconds longer, and if someone hits you, you also will die very fast if not able to stealth out the fight and flee.

ah well okay, here is your optional item... so nobody can say, this guide sucks, cuz it has no optional items.

ra's al ghul's robe is a decent defensive item that gives you some protection against both damage types and maxed out it also gives you a second wind before dying with some extra health and willpower.

    eat that haters! :D

aight and thats it, longer than i had planned to...
i hope you liked it, and have good experience trying out this build ingame.

wish you fun and less leavers/afk's and disconnections

    cheers Sismanski
