this is my first guide but i've been playing since the first rounds of closed beta and i've played batman pretty much the whole time (since his release)...i started playing the tri-lane (divided) and quickly learned a pretty good top lane batman build

there is A LOT more i can and evenutally will cover but for now essentially just have the items in the core section by late game and build up to them according to what's needed during the match (ex. if against a power champ top, take power armor items, etc)

if you have enough money early enough, rush ra's cape (er whatever it's called...again, guide will get better and tweaked/updated over time)...it's not as good as it used to be but it's still a really good item (especially if you get the aug that gives it a buff and not the aug that makes it cheaper)

the items in the optional section are mostly situational but you can experiment as needed...most everything tho beyond spear and ra's, is pretty much straight up damage and/or lifesteal or attack speed

there are likely better items that are better for certain situations but so far EVERY game i've played with batman i've gone with some form of the core build with some of the optional items subbed in and i get amazing results

(not gonna go into personal stats or boasting becaues we all play different and have different opinions, this is just something that's worked for me since i started playing closed beta)

as for skill rank order...you can play around with this and i often hear people say it's better to take different skills, yada-yada, don't bother....this works best, always has, even after his big nerf

(taking away his attack and power armor while in stealth and taking his cape stun away changed him up but not enough lol he's still freakin Batman so...ya...altho his cape is essentialy not as effective now, it does still do damage in an aoe so...handy)

that being said, maxing your q first is fine as well if you REALLY just wanna poke people but again, it's freakin Batman...come on lol you kick and punch people...game over

good tip to remember tho (it says it in the tootips but some people forget) try to use your q before you go in with your w because it a) gives you some energy back and b) slows enemies...works the same if you just use your q and basic attack but it a) is more effective if you use the combo and b) looks better lol

another note to remember about his skills is his passive...you can get away with not ever putting a point into it until late game but it's often a good idea to either put it in early so when you're in stealth you heal more and get better attack speed, or don't and just wait (i put a single point in after i've got 2 in my w cuz it's decent to have at that point) but if you itemize well enough (*ahem*items above*ahem*) you wont 'need' it
