  • Infinite Crisis has shut down.

With its departure, Dawnbase will be going into permanent read-only mode and will remain as both an archive of information about Infinite Crisis, and a reminder of the times we all had with the game.

Hats off to you all. It was a pleasure, ladies and gentlemen.

IC_Frelorn changed quite a bit statistically this September. He is now a pure assassin, and very powerful in the right hands. I hope this guide gives you a better understanding on how to save Gotham now that your role has changed.

Let's get started with the Mod set. Go for the attack pen augments Force, Slasher, Shrew, and Horsepower. You also want Enhanced Coda Blade, Enhanced Atomic Axe, and Empowered Deathstroke's Claymore. This is the set I use for most of my assassins (Flash is the only exception).

Now onto the build: At the start you want T3 Mace, and T1 Harness. After the fight top, or returning from bot lane, you can upgrade and sell both items so you have a large amount of credits to play with. Most of the time I can pick T3 Coda Blade, and T1 Lobo's Chain. If you can not get both, grab T1 Harness again to sell once you get over 300 credits. A little health boost early can really help assassins out when they are focused. You'll be investing in Lobo's Chain over time.

Once you have T3 Coda and T1 Lobo, start building into Deathstroke's Claymore. Often once I have both T2 lobo and claymore, I'll build build up Mace just to return it so I have no stop in stat aquisition. When you cap Claymore, you almost always want to build Crossbow unless the enemy has already stacked a lot of armor. If the later has happened, take a detour to T1 Axe before building Crossbow.

After Crossbow is built, I would cap Lobo's Chain. By now it should be T3 since it would be the item you slowly upgrade. W does apply on hit effects, so it will slow down an enemies escape, and help you stick to them to pick up a kill when they are low. Besides that, every melee champ benefits from bonus health even if their skills don't scale off it.

Now cap Atomic Axe, and choose your 6th item for what you need the most.

Finally, how to play him: Like all assassins, your job is go in, land a combo of your skills, pick up a kill or assist and get out before you die. If they are focusing you like they should, you won't have much time for BAs in a team fight before you have to back out. When soloing bot, don't take a lot of free ranged damage. Get in and land your combo(s) to decimate your opponent as early in the fight as possible. If you think you can hang with him, and out trade him, E isn't that bad of a skill, but for bot, I would generally just start of with Q1, W2 as a leveling order.

A great thing to do in a team fight is to wait for their assassin to attempt an engage. Q+W on them for a massive amount of damage while making them re-position, and often reprioritize their target. When using your Ult, land it on as many people as possible. This makes it more likely to land on someone you can easily focus down, and gives your adc a great choice of targets. Every skilled marksman will benefit from a well placed Frelorn Ult.

Now it is time for you to take Gotham back with IC_Frelorn, The Dark Knight!
