  • Infinite Crisis has shut down.

With its departure, Dawnbase will be going into permanent read-only mode and will remain as both an archive of information about Infinite Crisis, and a reminder of the times we all had with the game.

Hats off to you all. It was a pleasure, ladies and gentlemen.

Why Katana on Coast City?: She is highly mobile and has a great early game that can snowball well into mid game when played and built right. She has a lot of damage, and is great for teamfights, but you have to be careful because she can be focused right out of the game if you get caught out of place.

Mods: I max out AD pen in her modset. She needs as much Penetration as you can get on her to stay effective throughout the game. +10 AD Coda and Claymore are a no brainer on her, and the Power Armor mod on Sword helps with your survivability in team fights.

Build Path: I start off the game with T2 Marauder Knife and 2 health pots. I leave that item at tier 2 and start rushing Coda up to T3 before grabbing T2 Claymore. I then take a short break from the items I have modded to build Batman's Utility Belt. If there was a good mod for the item, it would be an instant item to mod. Until there is, it is just a good item. I build it at this time because this is the point in the game when the item becomes viable to use. Any sooner on her in most cases and you will have a delay in your power spike from when you bought the item.

I know build up my armor. I take Sword of Beowulf and Booster Gold's Power Suit as my defensive items because they are some of the most aggressive defensive items you can use on a bruiser. I absolutely love diving towers once I get these items built. Trust me, you will have a lot of fun doing this.

As your final item, I would pick up Atomic Axe. With it you will be able to slice up any champ in a duel.

As a side note, if you think you will Katana as a full assassin, ditch the armor mod and go for +10 AD Timepack. Build it where you would your armor items along with another offensive item of choice.

Ganking: I personally like coming in and using Q (even not on an enemy) and then using W to catch up to them, BA to slow, Q, BA, W, BA, Q, BA and then Soul Rend if they are in range. More times than not this method will net me a kill even without blowing my psychic assault or ult.

Teamfights: DO NOT JUMP RIGHT IN! I see this happen a lot and just sigh every time. I like starting off with a Spirit Wave across the enemy team, and then I jump on the most out of palce squishy target. Once I unleash a couple skill+ basic attack combos, I ult if necessary. Your ultimate will devastate the enemy team if you hit multiple targets. Once that is all done, just help clean up and do your best not to die in the process. If you have something like 50 health, just run, and no one will blame you.
