  • Infinite Crisis has shut down.

With its departure, Dawnbase will be going into permanent read-only mode and will remain as both an archive of information about Infinite Crisis, and a reminder of the times we all had with the game.

Hats off to you all. It was a pleasure, ladies and gentlemen.

Hello players of Infinite Crisis. What I will attempt to do is just give some basic tips for new players about things I have seen in my recent playings of the game. Feel free any other better players to pitch in some of the more basic mechanics of Mobas that I miss.

    1) Buying/Upgrading items: For your first game of Infinite Crisis I recommend you follow the recommended items list. Start with starter, then core, then either offense or defense. To start purchasing items press the p key to open up the shop. For an easier route there is an item buying order at the top of the recommended item list in which you can follow for items to build and the order to upgrade in.

    2) Combat don'ts
A)One don't that I see pretty often is tower diving. If you are new to Mobas, tower diving occurs when you attack an enemy hero while they are under the protection of their tower. On Gotham Heights the control points are the towers. In Coast City they are the towers. You almost never want to fight against a hero 1 on 1 because it isn't really a 1 on 1, but a 2 on 1. You only want to fight someone on their tower if you have an ally present to help you and preferably when both of you have close to full health.
    B) Do not focus on attacking Wonder Woman or Dooms Day. This don't varies depending on the items that a Wonder Woman or Dooms Day buys. For the most part though you want to focus on killing Batmans, Gas Light Catwoman, Green Lantern, Flash, Joker, Cyborg, Zatanna and Poison Ivy. Shazam and Gas Light Joker are also very dependent cases because of build, but a majority of the time Gas Light Joker will do more damage to themself with their ult, and Shazam will either be high damage and fairly easy to kill, or a tank with little damage to make a significant impact.
    C) Do not chase for kills. Particularly in Gotham Heights. If you are by yourself chasing a target to get a kill, you are at risk of losing that kill when reinforcements come and giving up a kill to those reinforcements. Unless you know exactly where all 4 of the other team is, chasing will almost always result in death; one exclusion is when your team has killed a few of the enemies making it relatively safe to chase.

3)Objectives: Don't ignore the orbital cannon/dooms day device/control points. If a team asks you to show up to the point, do try and grab it. Even if you aren't very good at the game yet, the act of heading to the point and contributing will go a long way into making you better. Here you will learn about team fights as well as key mechanics that can help a team win or lose. In Gotham Heights, not claiming the orbital cannon puts pressure on your team to defend heavily and lose valuable time to gain ground on the enemy team. Making the effort to try and capture the point and aid your team in capturing it can change a game around. Even if you are leading you want to capture the objectives to make sure the other team doesn't come back.

4)Know your invisibles: This will take some play time, but take note of which heroes can go invisible. Heroes that can go invisible will most likely pick on you because you are easy money to them. Characters like Gas Light Catwoman, and Nightmare Batman. Being without wards and a close tower puts you at risk of having an invisible hero sneak up and kill you. This is going to be one of the more difficult things to worry about and although it is included in this, it can't be reasonably expected of a new Moba player to know how to handle this, but some tips would be to never go past half way in a lane with half of your health without the aid of stealth detection. Other than that ask other players about what they suggest, and hope you don't get a negative response.

5)Interface Basics: In this I will just discuss one or two things about the interface that I think would help new players. For Gotham Heights the score is posted at the very top of the screen with a blue and red bar. This will be the sign of whether you are winning or losing. Under that score is a timer bar. Here you will see when an objective is coming close to being open. On Gotham Heights the red diamond is a sign for the orbital cannon, and a yellow means a meteor is dropping. Meteors can be picked up/consumed and block the path. In Coast City the red is the dooms day device, while the yellow is control points. There are green ones, but they just signify the start of the game and minions.

Thank you new players for taking time to read this. I hope this helps to better your experience of Infinite Crisis, and answers questions you might be afraid to ask people while playing your first game.

Great list! I'm relatively new to mobas, and your tips have been of great help since I got into the beta.

Thanks for this info.  Do you know what all the key bindings/mappings currently are for IC?  (Or where they are listed?)
