  • Infinite Crisis has shut down.

With its departure, Dawnbase will be going into permanent read-only mode and will remain as both an archive of information about Infinite Crisis, and a reminder of the times we all had with the game.

Hats off to you all. It was a pleasure, ladies and gentlemen.

Lobby: You don't have to build a specific amplifier for him as the default set is quite sufficient. Cheaper Nil Cloak will allow you to trade with an enemy jungler quite effectively and the cheaper Nil Cloak will allow you to still purchase Modular Health Vial (2). Good options if you want to tweak this to maximum would be to take Empowered Ruby Of Life (4) for the extra stacks as it is very hard to kill Doomsday with this build, 15 extra armor on Fragment Of Mogo (3) and if you plan on going for Atlantean Royal Seal (4), the Tier 2 slow will allow you to stick to your target even more. Extra Health on [[Lobo's Chain (4)]] is also a good buy. For stolen powers, [[Superman's Super Strength]] offers you the ability to clear pathways in the jungle, and extra AD while on cooldown. I usually take [[Nightmare Batman's Consume]] for the extra sustain but [[Atomic Green Lantern's Consume]] is also a viable option for the movement speed on your engages.

                                                                                      Early Game

If you have your teamates at your back, invading to enemy camps is a great option as your level 1 with Q is a massive amount of chase and damage to the enemy team. If not, get some help from your allies and take either your speed or health deployable camp. I prefer the health deployable as this gives an early aid to a lane if they are having a hard time surviving. Make sure your allies help but disengage fully before you kill the camp or you will split experience with them which will put you a little behind. Depending on which side you started on, rotate to the easier camps which consist of 3 or more minions( with no buffs above their heads), as the double camps are maulers which murder you at early levels.

Early Game Ganks: I wait until level 4 to start the pressure as that is normally when I dump my first point into charge. Your goal is not to explode the enemy like you would with GasCat, it is to set up camp and annoy the living hell out of the lane. This is generally best used on top lane as it is usually pushed. You can start from mid jungle and swing under behind them through their triangle stealth pad, but I find even jumping in through the middle section of stealth pads top works plenty fine with the movement speed boost you get from and safety of not being engaged too deep. Rush in with and Friendship Hug (E) them into a wall or back towards your lane ally and commence the smashing. If you're ganking a Catwoman or Harley Quinnyou should probably reconsider as they are really good at interrupting your charge. If you insist on still coming after them, you should W engage and then start out with Q smashing to close the gap and wait for them to trip you or knock you down. ONLY THEN can you safely reposition them with your charge. Remember, your goal is to instill fear into the enemies' hearts at this point, it is not essential to kill them as you will more than likely die under an enemy tower doing so.

Itemization: You will want to get Marauder Shield (2) as fast as possible as the extra health and health regen is essential for staying in the jungle and harassing lanes. Second priority is Ruby Of Life (1) as the extra health and regen, combined with the point into your passive at level 5, makes you an ungodly meat wall available for use in any lane. The most important choice this early in the game will come bewtween Ruby Of Life (2) or Speed Force Battery (1). If your ganks are failing horribly where you never catch anyone and you're wasting tons of time in lane attempting to harass someone, get your speedforce as it is cheaper and provides a healthy movement speed bonus. If you are doing average or well, getting the ruby is almost always the best bet so you can start getting your stacks. Speed Force Battery (1) is almost always, easily purchased after Ruby Of Life (2) so most games you should make the buy in this order.

                                                                                         Mid Game

You've hit level 6, congratulations because you are about to become the most terrifying aspect of your match. Level 6 marks the moment in the game where all your previous ganks, if they were successful or not, are now immediately successful. When you put your first point into your ultimate at level 6 you will start with a full bar of rage. What does this mean? Your Q will now apply a knockdown on the 3 activation. Your W now makes you faster. Your E charge carries them farther. At this point, you really don't even need something more on the Ultimate ( R ) itself but yep, you got it anyway with attack reflect, attack damage and resilience. Skill use and auto attacks will refill your rage bar by 10 but NOT while you have your R activated.

Mid Game Ganks: You should follow the standard gank path I described in early game, and at this point you don't even need to come through their triangle stealth pad. Now you will be activating your ( R ) and W in succession and then Friendship Hugging (E) them into the wall with ease as your increase to carry distance will almost always get them into a collidable. The change here being is you want to maximize the usefulness of your Q now so instead of immediately spamming all 3 charges, you'll want to spread them out now. The reason being is almost anyone you are ganking will have some way to instantly create distance from you and they will be slamming their finger on that key while they are stunned from your Friendship Hug. More often than not, this escape will ruin your knockdown oppotunity if you use it immediately. If you hold out, you will close the distance with your Q and then knock them down on the 3rd use. If they are not dead by then, your lane ally really screwed you and didn't commit.

Itemization: Now comes your second, pivotal selection of item order. [[Speed Force Battery (2)]] and Ruby Of Life (4) are both 1500 credits. If you are missing that pesky Mecha Wonder Woman, Gaslight Batman or Joker with their escapes, you will definitely want to priotize speed force over ruby. The blink is essential for catching these heroes off balance and without it you will be left crying in the middle of the lane. If you have been getting aggressive and sieging towers with an ally,  maxed out ruby is your friend. Upgrades past tier 2 are well worth the cash with a ton health to soak harass. Combine with the early max out of your passive, and you will Friendship Hug with ease regardless of the enemy tower bombarding you.

Disclaimer: You will die a ton learning how much heat you can take.
Bonus: You are hugging someone while doing it!

                                                                                            End Game

End Game: If you've been scaling in your item build as usual, then [[Lobo's Chain(4)]] and Spear Of Destiny (2) should come to you with ease and you're on to your last "core" and looking at optional items. I would always buy Lobo's Chain first over the Spear of Destiny as the slow from Tier 4 will prove more useful mid to end game than the Spear. Your concern during mid to end is providing a meat wall for tower diving and creating as many opportunities as possible for your allies. Fragment Of Mogo (3) is in the core because....well....it is just to awesome on almost any bruiser or enforcer. The extra burst can determine if you win a 1v1 fight against lifesteal heroes or someone trying to escape after a lockdown from you or allies.

End Game Ganks: At this point you have numerous options available to you and don't be afraid to be constantly opening up options for allies, whether it be ganking a split pusher, or a team fight. This is prevalent in all stages of the game, but feel free to use Speedforce Battery to traverse the map instead of engaging with it as you can cut corners in the jungle and be available for team fights at all times. Gank as you would in mid game but now you should be tower diving with Speedforce Battery and charging an enemy out to your team. Now that you have Lobo's Chain, spacing out your Q activations should be much easier so carries will be unable to get away from you. Almost always, diving through tanks to stop carries from wrecking your team is the correct choice. If there is an enemy Gaslight Catwoman, feel free to instead peel her from your teamates and help them take her down. I reccomend using Friendship Hug without your ultimate if you are engaging a team fight from the front, as you want to disrupt but not carry them too far from your allies. If you are tower diving, or in general, attacking from behind the enemy team; use your R and Friendship Hug a carry through their team into yours. If you have positioned correctly, always use your R into Friendship Hug for the guaranteed slam into the wall.

Itemization: At this point, I usually pick up Fragment Of Mogo (3) but Atlantean Royal Seal (4) is a completely valid option as well as it synergizes with your kit and especially your passive. Q activations will also benefit from the slow provided. I almost never take [[Ra's al Ghul's Robe (2)]] because it is incredibly hard to die as Doomsday and the benefits from Mogo and Seal are much better. If ...for some strange reason....they are focusing you then you are doing it right and you can hilariously buy a Suit Of Sorrows (4) to create tears amongst the Cyborg players or Entropy Aegis (4) to make that pesky Green Lantern Constrict fizzle out.

Overall: Doomsday is a very safe and reliable bruiser who is best built as an enforcer and your success will depend on your constant attention to lane ganking. If you build straight AD on him, you really better hope there is another enforcer on your team because your kit will almost always get you killed when you thought you were helping.

Addtions I would like to add:
    [list]
  • More "Doomsday versus" to help newer players know what they're getting into when they gank champion X
  • Continue to refine the organization of the guide
  • MORE PICTURES!: Help show gank paths, jungle rotations, bad places to get caught (ha..hahaha...haha...I'm Doomsday)
  • More Friendship Hug because there can never be enough

Right now the fields for Starter, Core and Optional are spitting out the "correct items" but in the incorrect fields and with duplicates. Refer to the body of the guide text for more helpful information but the stolen powers and the skill order are accurate. If anyone knows why this is happening and how to get around it, please let me know! I've sent in a ticket to the admins so hopefully this will be resolved.
